Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Dear XL-7 and MP-7 users group.


I am a musician with  the instrumental band wanderjahr (see:
www.wanderjahrmusic.com). This group utilizes mostly guitars,
keyboards, drums, etc.

I am looking into getting a portable mini-disc recorder and perhaps a
sampler-sequencer. I want to record sounds, like cars going by, etc,
with the mini-disc recorder, and play them back with the sampler
sequencer during live performances. I am looking at both the xl-7 and
the mp-8, but was wondering if these are overkill for whatI want to
do? Also, can anyone recommend a good mini disc recorder?
