Re: Tight Seaquencer?

2002-12-04 by jesse_medway

Hi,

I just bought my MP-7 a few weeks ago. I too was worried
about the timing after reading Nick's remarks.

Luckily I have had no problems with tightness. I have the
MP-7 sync'd to an SP1200. I have my kick, snare and a few
other things seq on the SP but most of my patterns are made on the
MP-7. All I can say is that the timing is great. I'm working
on a track right now with a recycled loop with the midi running in
the MP-7 triggering samples in an ASR-10, along with some tambourine
that is triggering the SP (the MP-7 is doing the seqeunce becuase I
needed a 16th note swing which the SP sequencer wont do) The drums
are really tight. This iw also with some synths and perc from the
internal MP-7 sounds running at the same time.

The only time I heard midi slop was when I had a sequence
playing with all onboard sounds and some thick layered pads.

But it seems that if you are using outside sources and not
*too* much layered internal sounds you will be fine.

I am very happy with this setup, like you I got the MP-7
to get away from Logic and so far its been great.

Jesse
