Not sure what exactly your trying to accomplish here. And you do mean the
Proteus 2000 and not the Proteus 2500? The Proteus 2000 does not have a
sequencer in it, unless you mean the Audition riff or possibly the
arpeggiator.
If what you mean is you want to use the Proteus 2000 as a sound module for
a
MP7 track, then that's pretty straight forward. We'll use your example.
Choose the pattern you want to work with and select track 1 using the
TRACK/CH buttons. Now enter the EDIT PATTERN menu and scroll until almost
the very end where you will see CHANNEL ASSIGN. Set this to
Channel: 01A Dest: int
Next hit the TRACK/CH "+" button to go to the next track (track 2) and set
the CHANNEL ASSIGN to:
Channel: 02A Dest: ext
Make sure your P2K is connected to the MIDI-A output.
At this point you're ready to work with the MP7's internal sounds on track
1
and the Proteus 2K's sounds on track 2. Select the desired preset on both
instruments for the respective channels. In this case the MP7 would have
channel 01A set to your drum kit choice and on the P2K channel 02A would
have its preset set to the bass sound you want to use. if you set the
Proteus 2K from its front panel you will be able to use the category browse
feature. You will also need to disable receiving program change in the P2K
on the edit page RECEIVE PROGRAM CHANGE. Set this to off for any channels
you are controlling with the MP7 otherwise it's patch change commands will
override what you set on the P2K.
Alternatively you can set the desired preset in the MP7 by placing a
program
change command at the beginning of the track. this though requires using
the editing features to insert the command and setting the preset by
number.
You can use the above method to have any number of tracks assigned to
combinations of internal MP7 sounds or Proteus 2K sounds.
I hope this is what you were after. If not please try again and clarify a
little more.
