Hi Erik, The control knobs generate a new value as soon as you move the knob. For example, the filter cutoff knob does not have to cross the current filter setting for the preset it's controlling to start working. Its effect is immediate, which has its pro and con arguments. But that's the way it is right now. As for the USB port, an upgrade coming soon will, at the very least enable the USB port for the archive & retrieval functions of E-Loader & the operating system upgrades using OS Loader, which currently are done with the MIDI ports. It's possible that it may be ready before the end of the year. Congratulation on your decision to go with the XL-7. It's SO COOL!!
