Keep in mind SACD's are at only 1 bit too (maybe two, it's been awhile since I read the specs), so comparing them to regular audio CDs or even DVD-A's is not as easy as that. SACD vs DVD-A. The big debate between manufacturer's right now, and even with the universal standards orginization. Right now, neither of them has been adopted as "the" standard, so both manufaturing camps are rushing to try and flood the market with both, so that the winner will be whoever has the most product out there. Beta vs VHS all over again? Hard to say. I've heard both and think that they sound comparible (which is to say superb, if your playback equipment is up to it!). Either way, it won't be until car audio manufacturer's support one or the other that we'll see broad market penetration of either IMHO. Personally, I'd rather see DVD-A win out, as there will be greater compatibility with the DVD-V market being so huge now. Sony should have learned with their MDs.... rEalm You know....you are absolutelty right. Awesome, they would have to stick to 16/44.1 to keep the redbook cd standard. But what do you think about SACDs? They are 2822.4, 64 times regular cd quality...I wonder if we can actually hear that kinda difference to that degree with the naked ear. Think it'll be a new adopted format...or a flop? Or will it just take a while(probably long while)? Thanks Realm, Will __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
