Considering how much space there is onboard, I'd be surprised if you ever need it.

I think that it will be used only to allow control by a computer for
loading/downloading files.  It's a real bummer that no onboard
storage is available.  I really wanted to get this box but now I'm
considering the Yamaha RS7000.  I like the Emu's interface better but
I need some type of onboard file backup other than a laptop.
