Hey all,

Quite a few people have asked me about whether or not it's ok to normalize
their song files before converting them to MP3's. Because some of our
users are using their XX-7's in a strictly digital environment (ala the
S/PDIF port), they made the case that since the digital out is so quiet
compared to the analog outs, that loudness might be a negative factor
affecting how people vote when the time comes. I can see their point, and
so I think that it will be ok if you want to normalize your sound files
before you do the MP3 conversion. Merely raising the digital signal will
nothing that gives anyone an advantage, and only serves to level the
playing field (pun intended). If you have any questions, please feel free
to ask here!
