Well, Aaron said it'd be tricky . . . I've figured out how to insert the meter change events in the conductor track of the song, but they're not happening in the right place. I inserted a change to 7/8 on measure 40 followed by a change back to 4/4 on measure 42. On playback, the change to 7/8 happens around beat 3 of measurre 39. The change back to 4/4 happens around beat 5 of measure 41. The result is that the song is back to 4/4 before the end of the 7/8 pattern, and I get the same problem I had before I "knew how" to change the meter: ie, an extra beat is added to the end of the 7/8 pattern. Basically, it sounds like no meter changes have been inserted, and the song's 4/4 setting is still overriding the pattern's 7/8. But I'm seeing the meter change; it's just changing early. Another problem is that when I insert a meter change anywhere in a song, the first few patterns in the song forget how to loop. In other words, an 8 bar step containing a 4-bar pattern (it normally loops) gives me the 4-bar pattern followed by 4 bars of silence. If the step is 16 bars, I get the first 4 followed by 12 bars of silence. Basically, silence until the next pattern change. Somewhere around step 3 or 4 (regardless of step length), this problem goes away, and patterns start looping properly. It's very confusing and even more frustrating. A little help ?!?!? Clay
