Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Just a quick question here,
While recording with my XL7 SPDIF or Analog out, I can't seem to get 
a hot enough signal into Cubase. I'm using an Aark24, and the input 
for the SPDIF (or Analog) in is maxed out(in the Aark manager 
software). This can't be right, no? My other synths are hot hot hot. 
My XL7 is soft soft soft. Any thoughts? Do I have a bad unit? I'm 
actually quite frustrated cause now I'm ready to record and the unit 
is so quiet I can't get a hot enough signal to record with!
