1. I've been getting a lot of personal emails from people asking me questions about the XX-7's lately. Some of them are from people who see my email addy on the FAQ I've done on the Emu site, others are list members. While I certainly do not mind helping people AT ALL, it would be nice if people at least took a look at the FAQ, before emailing me with the same questions that are clearly covered in that document. You can find a version that is more up to date than the one on Emu's site (what's up with that again Aaron?) at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/files/Command%20Station%20FAQ%20ver1.42.htm Also, I think everyone who wants to learn the XX-7's really owes is to themselves to at least go through the manual a couple times, most people who ask me questions freely admit that they haven't cracked it yet, which I can't comprehend. Not trying to be a jerk, but my work schedule is really picking up, so I'll have less time to reply to questions in the indepth way I have been in the past. I'll still try and find time to work with people one on one, if they can't get a problem sorted. 2. For some reason it's like no one saw my earlier posts about painting the XX-7's right after I did mine, cause I'm getting flooded with requests to do custom work this past week! Here's the lowdown for those wanting to get their XX-7's painted. - By opening the case and removing components, you are voiding your warranty. BE AWARE OF THIS, as Emu will not help you should you screw something up. - Because of this risk, it's not something that I would take on lightly, or cheaply. If something unforeseen were to happen, it'd be on me to replace your unit, and I'm not in the funds right now to do tht easily. Therefore, if you're really serious about this, know it's expensive to have done (mine certainly was), and that the cost isn't entirely up to me (screening the letters back on especially). - To do an entire paint job with lettering would cost you close to $300 +shipping costs. Sorry, but like I said I need to have the benefits outweigh the risks. You'd still need to do the disassembly on your own though. I didn't do mine with the intention of starting up a custom painting business, but I'd certainly be willing to work with people who just have to have a custom box. - A cheaper alternative would be to disassemble and paint the case yourself, then send it to me to have the lettering done. I talked to the guy that did mine, and he said it would be close to $100 for each case (plus shipping both ways), unless I got a bunch together at once (like more than 10). Anyway, that's the deal with case painting, sorry it's so expensive, but for the most part it's out of my control. rEalm
