Hey Yeah! Talked with an EMU tech today, and though they of course, can't promise anything, I got the idea (my interpretation only) that the USB port will be used for loading samples from other sources, and that there may well be additional assignments for the touch strip so that you could , trigger or modulate many cc's at once instead of having only the hard-wired mod-wheel mapping now. That is really one reason I got the XL-7: I loved the ability I had on the JP-8000's ribbon, to load up with bunches of controller parameters and create vulcan mind-melds with subtle finger nuances!!! Seems like many other incredible upgrades are also planned for these boxes! Kudos to EMU! Great sound, super smart design, and flexi-evolving architecture.
