Personally I love SX, it's ten billion times better than VST5 IMO.
However, I will say that Steinberg is having some teething problems with
the implementation of XP's direct music, and that some people have had
issues with the MIDI Clock timing as a result (myself too, to a small
extent). So you can quite easily work on your patterns in SX (and use
MIDI plug ins too!) but the timing MIGHT be off a bit, depending on your
