I wanted to try out my own "mega mix method" for drum pattern rEalm (I think, sorry if I got the person wrong) suggested the following: Try setting tracks 1-8 to be MultiA (so that they can contain multichannel data). Then, for each track, record 8 parts of drums on *channels* 1-8, laying down a kick, snare, hats, etc to make a complete busy drum groove per track. Then, switch your knobs to multichannel volume mode, and you can use them to control the balance of the individual instruments, including muting certain ones. In conjunction with that, you can then use the part mutes to enable one of the first eight tracks so select your drum "variation". Also, you'll have the other 8 tracks to do normal melodic and other stuff. You could also try a slight variation: same multichannel tracks 1-8, but record "chunks" of instruments, i.e. three variations of record kick, snare and hats on tracks 1-3, maybe a few misc percussion lines on 4-5, some cymbal work on 6-7, and maybe some other special track on 8. This way, you'll be able to mix and match to some degree (i.e. playing tracks 2, 5, 6, 8) while still being able to mix with the knobs. -Aaron __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
