I have a few questions - can you clear this up for me?

2002-09-04 by heinrich22001

1. In the channel assign chapter of the manual (around page 90,
don´t have the thing with me, sorry) I found a few lines, saying,
you can assign to every track not only one channel - or a multi
channel - but as well a proper so called auxiliary channel: Whats
the deal with that? I didn´t find anything about it in the menus of
my MP-7.

2. I wanted to try out my own "mega mix method" for drum pattern
creation: assign for instance 8 kickdrum phrases (channel 1A - 8A)
and 8 snare phrases (9A - 16A) as multi A to track 1. Then assign 8
hihat/cymbal (1B - 8B) and 8 perc. phrases (9B - 16B) as multi B to
track 2. Then do the same with track 3 and 4, 5 and 6 and so on. You
will only use 2 tracks (mute the rest) and combine kick, snare,
Hihat, perc. prases to your likes as you use the midi channel enable
screen and mute the channels you don´t want - or use the controller
buttons on the left and the mix screen: easy to turn the volumes
down you don´t need. Lots of variations possible, so far so good,
but when it comes to actually pull out a certain variation you like
and set it up as a new user pattern to work with, there´s no way you
can delete all the data of those channels you don´t need. I didn´t
find a way either to save the pattern in a way that all the unwanted
channels are left out.
Maybe you would never go this way - but I thought it should be nice
and quick way to build up new tracks and combine them to your hearts
desire...

3. Anybody interested in a comment how the MP-7 compares to the
Motif and the Roland Fantom soundwise?

Sorry for the longe post.
Good jammin´
