The RS7000 is exactly a RM1x combined with a SU700. It's got a lot of great features, and the sampling is definitely a plus. However I think it falls short on two counts: 1. The sounds. The sounds are really not all that, and for some odd reason, Yamaha used the same synth engine as the RM1x, which means the pacth editing is really limited. So if you don't like the sounds when you demo the unit, there's not a huge wealth of options for editing them. 2. I've heard the OS is still pretty buggy, but I can't confirm this personally. My friend is the manager of the pro audio department at the local Guitar Center, and he says people return the RS7000's all the time and complain they don't work properly. rEalm I don't know a lot about the RS7000, but I do know that somehow it didn't catch fire and turn out to be the hoped-for all in one box that many of us MC-505 owners were hoping for. More like an RM1x merged with an SU700 but not much else going for it.
