There's patch loader/dumper software program; easier than sorting 
through bulk dump data, or recording it 'live'. 

I'm still getting the hang of the midi data it's spits out, though 
building tracks of midi notes is no problem.

In the pdf's I saw, it was always a USB port. The peripheral end of a 
USB port does look a little like a phone jack, in a line diagram.
