So, if you want to change preset assignments you need to feed the pattern new track data; just record something on the track, even if it's just dummy data for you to go back and delete.� Gotcha.� Startin' to see the forest. Or the trees, whichever.

BTW, I bought an e5000 Ultra today to compliment my XL-7 (and to replace my ASR-10); I can't wait to start burning ROMs and throwing loops through the XL-7's filters!� Uh, once I figure out, uh...how to. ;)

More accurately (I recall - could be wrong): when you save a preset to
a new location, the current pattern's preset program number is updated
to point at the new location. If you don't save the pattern, the old
version of it will point at the old preset.

Aside: I notice that, if a pattern is saved to a new location, it's
still marked as dirty in the old location. This is not something I've
seen on any other MIDI device.

Scroll around, select the right presets, and then save the
pattern. When you come back to it, the preset selections should be
right.
