Shawn, It's easiest to assign channel 1A to track 1, channel 2A to track 2 etc... Then, save your preset to that track. You will have to save the preset to a USER bank and not an XL-7 bank. You cannot save tweeked presets to an XL-7 bank. Don't forget to save your user pattern also.
