first and strangest; sometimes it won't remember a preset on a certain 
channel; saved the pattern with o.k. preset, no events on the track (so no 
prg ch)... 

>>>That's your problem right there. You need to have something recorded in 
the track so that the sequencer will send a PC message when you go back to 
that Pattern.  Maybe just select the correct preset, record some crap real 
quick on that track and save the Pattern.  Then go back and erase the 
notes, this should leave the PC message intact. <<<
