Re: [xl7] Re: Balanced cables

2002-04-26 by Aaron Eppolito

Thought I'd pop in here with a quick official update. None of the XL-7
outputs are balanced. They all do, however, have special functionality.

Here goes:

Main Left: if there's no plug in the Main R, this jack is stereo.
(T=left, R=right, S=ground)

Main Right: if there's no plug in the Main L jack, this is a mono sum
(T=left+right, S=ground)

Any Sub Jack: these are insert jacks, for send/return (T=send, R=return,
S=ground)

The mains are like this to allow people to hook to a mono amp (with one
TS cable from the Main Right jack) or hook up to a stereo input (with
one TRS cable from Main Left).

Bottom line is, you should use unbalanced cables for everything, unless
you want to do something special (like use the returns on the subs, or
use only one TRS cable for the main L).
