These have tip as hot, ring as return, and sleeve as ground. Plugging a balanced cable from this into your mixer could cause problems. The ring will proboably pick up whatever noise is around and send that to both the input on the mixer and the main outs on the xl-7. You may get lucky and not notice anything, but it is not good parctice. For the sub outs either use an insert cable or an unbalanced cable for best results. --Ezra
