It is all in the pattern edit menue.

Go to channel asign set the track you are using for your external 
gear and set it to external.

then just go into the event editer and select the track and channel 
that you are using and scroll to the first event.  Then hit the 
repeat button to create a new event.  Then select the event and 
scroll wile the curser is under it untill it says prog:  then select 
the number of the program that you want and there ya go.

I am pretty shur that there is more info in the old addendum about 
this so see if you can find it.

hope that is enuf for you to figure it out.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
