Does anyone here object to having the currently private group's discussions/posts/conversations/etc. made publically available?

I just found out about the following. If there are objections I see 2 options (1) not to invite this group to make the archives public or (2) people who don't want their posts to be public and delete them (assuming we still have that ability).
Unfortunately, of the 2302 members we have, some may not have been active for years, their e-mail addresses are not current and they cannot be asked, etc.

Too bad Verizon/Yahoo sprung this on us last minute.  I am not sure there is enough time to try to ask everyone who has posted. And with tomorrow's deadline, I am not sure we can do a poll to try to (1) reduce the 2302 members to just those who are active and (2) do use a "present and voting" majority thing.

Adding Private Groups to the Public Archive

Administrators / Moderators can request that their private group (we consider a private group to be one that requires approval for new members) be included in the public archive. Before you do this, please ensure that the members of the group are happy about being part of the public archive. [empashis added]

To add the group to the list of private groups to be archived, all you need to do is send a membership invite to the email archiveteamprivateyahoogroup@gmail.com. (Note that only group admins can do this). We'll be monitoring that email regularly to accept any membership requests we receive. Once that account is a member, the group should be scheduled to be part of the public archive.

Please make sure that when you invite the Archive Team account, you do not select the Add only to mailing list option, as this will prevent Archive Team from archiving the group.
