I believe the PR for both were different--based on your links and other PR which can be found at the Way Back Machine. The XL-7 PR emphasizes the Audity -> XL-1 heritage. The P2500 calls attention to improvements over the P2000. I do remember some discussion of the chips. I thought the bottom line was that the speed/chip advantages & features of the P2500 and the CS were the same.
