Hi, thanks for previous assistance, got a new one, I am sequencing internal sounds and an xv-5050 that I recently bought, everythings fine and I have both instruments fed into an Alesis mixer, but, I am sure I read somewhere that you can feed an external instruments output into the Mp-7 somehow essentially doing away with the need for a mixer, this would simplify things for me greatly as then I would only have to feed the E-mus output into my pc for final audio recording my audio interface only has one input that I can use (Roland Duo Capture) this way I could record output from everything using only one input on pc.
Hope this is clear what I am looking to do?

You need two so-called "insert" or "Y" cables, something like this:
The stereo plug goes into one of the SUB, or SUB2 *outputs*, and one of the mono plugs (you'll have to figure it out, but there are only two) goes into the outputs of your XV-5050. Left to left, right to right.
The idea behind it is, that E-mu designed the Command Stations to be able to use external sound processing units as inserts. Thus SUB outputs are the TRS sockets (like a stereo headphones socket), which are able to send a mono signal and get it back. Using the insert cables you cheat E-mu into thinking, that there is some external FX unit sending back some sound, which is being mixed with the internal sounds of your MP-7. The only thing is, that you (IIRC) can't send any bus to that SUB output, but maybe someone else would chime in and clarify.
Let us know, if it works for you.
Cheers,
