Help for Mike (was mike's rant)
2002-04-10 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com
Hey there thanks for the feedback on this one rEalm I need to figure out what is going on here.
>>>No problem, hopefully we can get to the bottom of this asap for you :) <<<
First off I am honestly glad that you could not get yor xl7 to do what mine is doing. Maby this one thing I am writing is cursed or something.
>>>Well, if it's only happening on this one pattern/song, that's a good sign! <<<
I went in and erased all controllers as well as all poly aftertouch and channel aftertouch. There is no difference at all that I can tell.
>>>Ok, it was just a guess, and an easy place to start.<<<
I will send you the patterns but how would you like me to do that?
>>>Email is fine, MIDI files are usually relatively small, so it's not a big deal. Are you switching from one pattern to the next manually, or are the patterns already sequenced in Song Mode? If it's in Song mode, send me a copy of the song file too, and let me know which Song Steps are the ones giving you problems. <<<
Well what I am usually doing is making a modified version of a preset that starts at the begining of the next pattern. So I can tweak away to my hearts content and when I go to that new pattern all is where the next section of the song should be. Think that makes sence.
>>>Ok, let me make sure I'm understanding exactly what's going on (clarify each point for me, yes or no is fine).
1. You're having problems switching between two patterns manually (not song mode) right?
2. You play one pattern and tweak one of your presets, then when you select the next pattern and press Enter, you get a timing glitch?
3. Do you get a glitch when you switch patterns, or only when you press Enter?
4. How many tracks do you have playing at once when the glitch occurs?
5. You mentioned something yesterday that the glitch affects your HH's and leads too right? Is the glitch only affecting one part, or all of them?
Answer those so I understand a bit more of what's happening (or write a detailed step by step :), thanx!
