Everyone in this group probably knows already, so forgive me for stating the obvious.
I recently bought a E-Mu Virtuoso with a "faulty screen" for super cheap on Ebay. Upon studying the manual, it turns out the screen is not faulty, just that it needed to be adjusted to a proper setting to be viewed from the front (under the master menu). This is the second one I have bought cheap with a "faulty screen" that had no problem at all.
;Just a tip to get a great unit for cheap, usually thru a pawn shop or such, where they think that saying it has been "untested" excuses them for their lack of experience!
Cheers,
Max

To answer some of your questions...
No I don't use the usb transfer, just midi in/out from midiman midisport 1x1 on a windows 7 laptop.
I'm leaning towards full memory

I think I'll find an empty pattern and copy/overwrite that to some user patterns I don't like, compact data again and see where it goes from there regarding the p2500 patterns. I'll let you know if this works for future reference
Thanks again Steve.
