Yes it can be done. Press the Arp Button. Go to Screen #3, "ARP/RIFF MIDI out". Set it to - Transmit arps. Your Sequencer will record both the notes being held down and the arpeggiated ones. To remove the held notes, you'll have to edit the track and erase the notes with the long duration's. They should be easy to spot and are probably located at tick 0 of the bar you first recorded into. Also, make sure your Xl-7's tempo is the same as your software Sequencer or better yet set the Xl-7 to slave to the Soft Sequencer via MIDI clocks. If you have input quantize on, it may faster and easier just to match tempos if you haven't already synched your two Sequencers together. sean at e-mu / ensoniq
