I have a P2k that needed a trimpot bias adjustment for the display. The voltage coming from the main board would not allow the contrast to display properly. A 1k trimpot connected to +5 and -5 volts with the center leg feeding the contrast adjustment pin on the LCD took care of the problem. I'm not sure if it was the display or the main board.
