Re: [xl7] Re: Best - most interesting ROMs

Just to clarify: Casey, are you talking about the ROM taken from this one:

http://www.vintagesynth.com/emu/vintkeys.php

or this one:

http://www.vintagesynth.com/emu/vintagepro.php

If the first one, I wouldn't be surprised at all; in fact I would be surprised that you didn';t fry both parts of the equipment (being a complete laic about voltages used in both units and all the other details). Though if we're talking about the second one, I'm really surprised and I would bet on malfunctioning ROM - static electricity maybe? A friend of mine has a "silent" MROM, most likely damaged while moving ROMs between units.

Cheers,

Bruno

each rom should have their own id.. maybe it is sharing and id with a rom that is installed and thus not getting detected. have you tried removing all roms and booting the xl7 with only the VROM installed?

I brought this up a while ago with no resolve... So this may be the opp, hope I'm not too off topic!

Anyone have luck loading a Vintage Keys ROM in a Command Station?

I have one in a PX-7 and I get really bad distortion. In my XL-7, which has a flash ROM, Vintage Keys won't even load. I've tried rearranging ROMs in all configurations, messed with all settings, and can't get a good result.

I'm now thinking it's a voicing issue b/c I think it's an older ROM (90's)... I really want this thing to work, any advice or similar experience? I'm to the point I'm about to buy Proteus 2000, hoping it will load.

Thoughts???

Casey
