Actually this has been on my list of things to do for some time. I want to reverse engineer the sound rom electrical and data formats and then create a custom 'card' that would dynamically load a soundset in from SD cards. I'm partially equipped for this, but I'd be thrilled if anyone else out there could help. I don't think we could get EMU to open source the OS, or perhaps we could? I don't see Creative actually doing anything with the Synth Engines any time soon, and there are a lot of things that could be improved for current owners...
