Re: return to command station

I suppose if I were dubbing a 16 channel sequence from a different sequencer to record it on the P2500's sequencer, it should work the same.
However, if the goal is to have sequencer/sound module X play itself at the same time the E-Mu is recording, in order to avoid midi feedback and/or midi clock confusion and/or note doubling, you might have to switch some settings around in one or both in order to have the E-Mu sequencer play sequencer/sound module X. Of course it would depend on your midi wiring/routing and what parameters/settings you have access to on sequencer/sound module X.
BTW, to do this experiment I had to change the P2500 parameters to settings which I never use, so if this is what either of you wants to be able to do (or anyone else want to do), I will type up the settings I used.
Oh--I only used MultiA. If I changed configuration on the fly, I probably could have recorded the 16 midi channels onto track one and then added 16 more channels on track 2 set to MultiB. (Will have to test that.)
I had fun with this exercise. I am now wondering about developing a live midi looping performance modality based on this E-Mu sequencer usage. Maybe I can use the knobs in volume mode to mix MultiA channels and toggle to program mode to mix MultiB channels.
I am still not sure if this comes anywhere near the original goal, but I hope its helpful to someone.
Steve
