I would go for BCF. Some time ago the volume knob of my XL-7 was broken, and I was using BCR 2000 (with sysex) to ontrol the volume of XL-7... far from being super comfortable, but was doing the trick. Which gives me an idea for another thread...

You probably thought of this, but you could also use a midi file to send sysex to simulate the Save/Copy button press from the CS.
