Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi,
I'm sure I used to be a member a few years back when I owned an XL-7 and foolishly sold it.I have now purchased an MP-7 on ebay and have the following ROMS installed...
MP-7   standard mp7 rom
PHATT  pure phatt rom
PROM   pk6 rom
XROM   xk6 rom

I have a yamaha rs7000 and a roland mc 808 also. I am probably going to use the rs7000 to sequence the mp-7/mc 808 and also record the sequences from the mp7 and mc 808 back to the rs7000 for remixing via a midi merger.

problem at the moment is updating the mp7 as i don't yet have a midi interface and worried that my windows 7 laptop will have problems communicating with the mp7.
also, will bts mode on mp7 rom work once the os2 is installed? if so, I will have freed up a rom space as it would seem pointless having a pure phatt rom aswell?? Anyone interested in swapping ROMs?
 If I remember correctly my old xl7 when updated to os2 had the ability to record more than 1 midi track at a time when playing sequences from another sequencer??
