Re: [xl7] Re: MIDI setup. Help needed...

2013-06-09 by Bruno

Given the fact that most devices don't propagate MIDI Clock to MIDI Thru outputs, I don't think it's feasible to get it working properly without another device, namely a MIDI interface with configurable standalone mode. If you don't use (and you don't plan to use) a 64-bit Windows system, eMagic AMT4 should do the trick for you on any Windows up to XP, as well as on Mac OS X. In standalone mode you have 32 user setups, where you can use connection matrix to do in-to-out mapping (no control over channel-based filtering or anything fancy), and you can even switch them using ordinary Program Changes on specific port & channel.

It is a second-hand gear, which - afaik - can give you headache under 64 bit Windows.

However, as a PC person, I don't know what midi filtering/routing software you would use.

I would like to do computerless true hardware setup. Ñomputer is used only for stereo recording. I dont want to do midi routing in software.
And yes Virus have midi thru.
As I understand you, I can connect novation via virus midi thru to mp7, But emu have only one midi in and i want record virus into mp7 too. that is my problem.
and for kp3, i only need send to it midi clock, i dont need use midi out from it.
