Re: [asrx] 50% sale over at chicken sys

Out of curiosity, what do you use it for? I was under the impression that E-Mu users at most would use it for use with E-Mu samplers. Considering the cost of samplers over the past several years, the software seemed rather expensive. The half-price sale is attractive, but $200 to support a sampler that costs around $250-$300 (for a low-end, no frills E-5000 Ultra) up to $400-$500 to a more fully loaded Ultra model seems disproportional.

As I understand it, with the software E-Mu users with samplers can convert samples from various formats to use with their samplers. This would seem to be more useful to owners of low-end samplers. I could be wrong, but people with higher end samplers are probably making their own samples, not collecting banks and banks of converted samples.

There are always E-Mu samplers listed on e-bay and I would think that if the software were in the $15-$25 range, many more would buy the software--even more than would be attracted to the 1/2 price promotion.

Are there any other uses for E-Mu owners that I am missing?

Steve
