12 controllers on proteus 2k so rom assignments fit knob assigbments on p2k not 16 knobs like on xx-7.
Having recently gotten hold of a Composer ROM (quite frankly I bought a complete Proteus 2000 and ripped the ROM from it as I couldn't find a bare ROM at a reasonable price), I've noted that the default knob assignments in the presets often don't match the legend on the XL-7 knob panel. Fair enough I suppose, as they are designed for another machine, a bit of a pity though that E-Mu didn't match the assignments across the entire range. (The Proteus 2000 and the Composer ROM are older, so I suppose that could explain it; with more knobs on the XL-7 than on the Proteus I guess they figured they could make better use of the larger number of knobs).
One question though: the Proteus Pop Collection ROM apparently has the same sample set as the Composer ROM, but do the presets have the same knob assignment or have they changed them too so that they better match the XL-7 (and the other Command Stations as well as the Proteus 2500)?
