Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I haven't played with it since participating in that thread, but I am guessing that I was close when suggesting that the seemingly random phase shifting contributes to the E-Mu's "phatt" sound (what the original post called a flange-like sound). In the thread I believe someone suggested changing pan, detune, etc. to get rid of that effect. There may be other ideas. Not sure when I will have time to reconstruct and play around with it. 

Since the effect was related to the same sound being generated by multiple layers, perhaps if the preset you are using has the same (or similar) sound on different layers, turn off all but one layer to see if it goes away. If so, you can redesign the preset accordingly.
