Congrats :-) Command Stations are awesome, so it's always better to
keep them than to get rid of them.

I'm finding that realtime recording is meant only for the pads, and step recording as I currently understand it is more ideal for short patterns or ones in which any changes to the pattern occur on downbeat one of subsequent patterns. I'm prepared to either bounce all 16 tracks into a DAW and manually build the song, but wanted to check with you first: Is there anyway that I might be missing, to record the muting and unmuting of tracks on the fly? Bringing in parts, say at measure two, instead of having to wait until the next bar begins, or to be able to capture a "performance" in which I'm rhythmically muting a track for a stutter/slice effect?

You cannot do it in pattern, since it's... erm, a pattern. If you want
to cut off part of the track, use the editing operations.

However, you can use your pattern in song mode, then mute/unmute
tracks - and those changes will be recorded (I assume).

Bruno
