Yes it is. I swapped the PSUs and everything is OK. I looked into the
broken one and cannot see any obvious damage. Also, I consulted a
friend of mine (too bad he's 1000 kms away) and he said that ATX PSU
probably won't do without modifications, since CS PSU feeds 10V on pin
2, and this voltage is not present in ATX.

So, my XL-7 is back, but our "Orbit-7" (which is my empty MP-7 shell
filled with TSCY/Beat Garden/Ensoniq Project ROMs which belong to the
bandmate) is now dead. The mentioned friend is able to help, but that
would add an snail-mail overhead, so I'm going to ask a local
colleague if he could help. In any case, I will provide the info what
broke :-)
