2012/8/16 steve_the_composer <smw-mail@...>: > Just a footnote: I have heard of people who have gotten the Unitor drivers/software (for eMagic midi interfaces) to work on post-Win98 PCs. However, I have not been able to get them to work with eMagic's MT-4 on either XP or Win7. That's strange - I am using my Unitor8s on XP, and recently got an AMT8 to use it as a spare (or gig one). I cannot say I haven't had any issues though, as installing multiple cascaded Unitors on Windows can be a pain in the $a in certain situations (works OK on Mac though, but you need at least one USB enabled, since Mac OS X doesn't support connecting Unitors thru serial port), but given enough patience it's doable, and once done, continues to work. You will probably need the latest drivers (2.27). MT4 can be a different beast tho: according to SoS "Unlike the same company's AMT8 (reviewed in SOS January 2000), the MT4 doesn't feature Emagic's Active MIDI Transmission (which can improve MIDI timing when used with compatible software), so its timing resolution will be limited by the resolution of the USB port to which it is connected.", so its drivers can be different, thus not supported on 98+ versions of Windows.
