Re: Toggling pattern follow in Grid Record Mode?

2012-05-24 by ackack1020

Thanks for the replies Steve! You're actually going way deeper than I meant to, but kudos! I don't know anything about Triggers... I want to learn, but don't know where to start, haha. I read the manual, but think I have to get my head around some other abilities of the CS first.

I just want to be able to see the active steps (LEDs) for a bar at a time while the pattern is running. Not necessarily trying to get a more precise or complex sequence going, but just for the ability to "TR step sequence" (i.e. Grid Record Mode on the CS, right?) Bar 1 (for example) while the rest of the 8 bars (for example) play through. As it is the 16 buttons update each time a new bar starts.

Again, I never use either grid mode record or step mode record, but (based on my admittedly quick test) it looks like you cannot have the seqeuencer playing at a clocked speed and be in step record mode at the same time.

You could probably write some code for a simple program to do it from a computer. [If "C" is pressed, send a clock byte to the midi port--or something like that.]

When you say "toggle pattern follow on/off," does that mean you are have the trigger buttions set to Select Patterns? (I don't think I have ever used that, but will give it a try.)
