>>>> Forget the set of questions I posted!!! <<<<<< I just tried grid mode record and it seems like whatever triggers I set up to play, based on the key value, were recorded and were played back when the pattern looped. Then I went into step mode. Nothing plays. This seems to make sense--I was in step mode. The play button advances the seqeuncer based on the step settings. Are you are trying to play previously recorded patterns while in step record mode? (Maybe that's what you are asking about.) Again, I never use either grid mode record or step mode record, but (based on my admittedly quick test) it looks like you cannot have the seqeuencer playing at a clocked speed and be in step record mode at the same time. Perhaps if you built a microprocessor (arduino, pic, etc.) with a push button to send midi clock events one at a time and you set the E-Mu sequencer to esternal clock, you might be able to step through a sequence one clock at a time and then enter new midi data exactly where you want it. Now that I did the test run, it sounds like that is the kind of sequencing ability you are looking for. Last summer I did some experiments generating midi data with an arduino. Perhaps I might get into more experiments this summer and might try this solution. Hmmmmm. You could probably write some code for a simple program to do it from a computer. [If "C" is pressed, send a clock byte to the midi port--or something like that.] Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "steve_the_composer" <smw-mail@...> wrote: > > I don't know off hand. Hmmmmmm. When you say "toggle pattern follow on/off," does that mean you are have the trigger buttions set to Select Patterns? Would be nice to be able to step through the pattern while editing and hearing the changes without rushing to do changes as the bar races by... > > > > Cheers! > > >
