I don't know off hand. I never use grid mode. Maybe someone else who does use grid mode knows the answer.

In any case I am inspired to try to duplicate what you are trying to do. However, I am not 100% clear on what you are attempting to do and how you have it set up.

What function do you have the trigger buttons set at (Play Note Events, Play Beats Part, or Select Patterns)? Hmmmmmm. When you say "toggle pattern follow on/off," does that mean you are have the trigger buttions set to Select Patterns? (I don't think I have ever used that, but will give it a try.)

I get the idea that you are playing a pattern and in step mode at the same time. Is that right? (Again, I have never tried this but I will try to duplicate it.)

One more question: What is the Channel Assign Destination for the track you are using (none, int, ext, both)?
