Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if:
 a) my rack is weird
 b) my XL-7 is weird
 c) all XL-7s are weird

I mounted my XL-7 in a rack and everything is nice and dandy, except
that XL-7 occupies a bit too much space. It's mounted in an adjustable
angled rack (similar to this one:
http://img.etonals.com/p/large/MC_ARS55.jpg), at the bottom of the
adjustable frame. All units above it have to be shifted a bit up,
which is not nice and costed me a hell of effort to fit it there, and
made me wondering if something went wrong in the E-mu factory.

Pointer: it's *very* early model, which came with printed manual
revision A and CD-ROM with revision A in PDF. I still have an MP-7
(which I'm planning to sell), which seems to be of some later sort,
but I'm not sure if I want to disassemble my rack and try to fit it
there. Also, I actually wanted to get XL-7 (I prefer yellow to
purple), so using MP-7 would not be an option.

I was thinking at some point about shoving the bottom side of the
case, but that was only a momentary lapse of weakness. I wouldn't harm
my beautie :-)

Erm... so, any experiences to share from fellow rack-mounted-CS owners?
