I have never used Reason, so I cannot suggest anything there. The idea of using midi learn is an excellent one; I just don't know how its implemented in Reason. I doubt you can use all of the buttons on the Command Station to do the same things they do on the Command Station in Reason (e.g., step record). I have used the 16 knobs on my P2500 to control other gear--basically by sending CCs and mapping to the parameters I wanted to change in the external gear. Also, the trigger buttons can be set up to send specific notes. They can be set up to be sent externally via midi. So, if Reason has midi learn which can do different functions, perhaps you can use the trigger buttions based on the different notes. Of course, if it could do that, you could also map a keyboard to Reason's functions. Command Stations have what's called Remote Control Sysex mode, but I would be exteremly surprised if Reason could map E-Mu sysex commands to its own functions. In short, I'd expect that the E-Mu's knobs and the triggers could be used for any software with midi learn. If the software resonds to basic midi transport commands (start, stop, continue), those could probably be used, too. There is no practical way of using the Command Station's encoder to send out program change messages to Reason. I hope this helps. Its about all I can think of. Maybe there's someone else here who uses Reason that can help.
