I think my P2500 started with OS1.18. Not sure if that required the command prep. Better double check before running command prep--because: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/xl7/message/16823 Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "shakerz25" <shakerz25@...> wrote: > > Thanks; I have checked the archives a bit. I'll try to find another MIDI interface, and/or, as another forum member suggested, try to upload the command prep software first (even though I have OS 1.18 in the MP-7). Possibly some ate sysex, I think. I would look at the midi monitor in e-loader and see what is going is going on in terms of the communication (if you can do that while in OS install mode--not sure about that). > > > > I will try to carve out some time to see if I can find related discussions in the archives (unless you already checked there). > > > > Steve > > > > > > > > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Bruno <brunorc@> wrote: > > > > > > 2012/2/27 shakerz25 <shakerz25@>: > > > > Not using the USB connector on the MP-7; my understanding is that does NOT work for upgrading OS, you have to use the MIDI connectors on the MP-7. > > > > > > > > I'm using a USB MIDI (U2 Midi) interface. It is recognized by the PC. MIDI In & Out connections to the MP-7 are correct, with USB end of cable going to USB port on the PC (front). Since the download partially happens, I think the USB MIDI interface and connection are OK.
