Since the download partially happens, I think the USB MIDI interface and connection are OK. Thanks! It is possible that MIDI interface chokes on the heavy SysEx data, which apparently cannot be slowed down with "packet delay" parameter. Can you try a different MIDI interface? I recall upgrading the OS thru my eMagic Unitor8 (and before, upgrading P2K few times thru the Midiman BiPort on serial port) and it worked like a charm. If you don't have (access to) any other MIDI interface, maybe you can give your location and one of list members living nearby can help you.
