I'm not familiar with FL Studio, but see if there's a setting where you can adjust how many MIDI 'ticks per beat' it operates on. Check the XL7 manual, but I'm pretty sure it runs on 96 TPB, so setting your DAW to 96, (or an exact multiple thereof) might eliminate the jitter issue. I use SONAR and have it set to (I think) 960 and I very rarely experience timing issues that can't be fixed by playing with MIDI delay.

Right, that's what I meant when I said jitter so I was thrown by your use of jitter :)
The xl7 bpm number jumps around a little when slaved to a daw. And ableton bpm number jumps around when slaved to emu. IMHO works good for live use with emu as master if I record main mix, I do vs sets with ableton users a lot. I don't have FL though so ymmv.
