I would suspect the power supply (which has been a hot topic around here lately.)  The electrolytic capacitors (and possibly 1 film cap as well) in the power supply have a tendency to fail.  It's pretty simple to replace the capacitors if you're comfortable with a soldering iron.  I actually have a spare here--if anyone's interested, contact me off list.
